Autopsy is a model of the Horiuchi House by Tadao Ando, otherwise known as the Glass Block Wall House. Based in Japan, this project sits amongst many of Ando’s minimal Japanese inspired homes made entirely from concrete. It is located in a dense neighbourhood and surrounded by houses. As a result there are no external windows. Instead the building is lit by a central courtyard that is hidden from the street by a large wall made from glass blocks encased in a steel frame. The model was made by studying plans and sections to understand how the home was designed within such strict confines.
